Mr. Matt Benson and his family will be ministering in July at HoneyRock Camp located in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, and owned and operated by Wheaton College since 1951. Matt will be the camp pastor.

, Dr. Beth Impson, Dr. Jeff Myers, Dr. Mel Wilhoit, and Mr. Ben Williams are among the 19 speakers at the three Summit Conferences held on the Dayton campus July 5-31.

Mr. Adam Crownoble
, Web Programmer, and Mr. Steve Paulson, Database Administrator/Manager, attended a “Skills for Managers and Supervisors” Seminar I in Chattanooga, TN, May 19.

Ms. Myra Goza, Arnold Hall Resident Director, left today for Kenya.  She is a mission team member from a church in Knoxville that will be ministering in Kenya for the next two weeks.

Mr. Stefon Gray, Director of I.T. Services, and Mr. James Sullivan, I.T. Network Administrator, attended the TICUA Information Technology retreat in Nashville, TN, May 14-15. James gave a presentation on “Network Tools” and Stefon gave a presentation on “Classroom Technology Configuration.”

Mr. William Harle, Academic Support Center Director, this summer is overseeing the expansion of ASC facilities in the Library to include a conference/classroom, an office, and a larger room suitable for individual tutoring sesions.

Mrs. Kim Keck performed with the University of Tennessee Master Chorale as a soloist at Second Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga on June 19.

Dr. David Luther sang as soloist with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Master Chorale in its June 19 concert at Second Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga. 

Dr. Sigrid Luther reported that the Bryan College Community Music School, along with the Rhea Arts Council, hosted the Rhea County Community Music Festival. A record 58 entries in piano, voice and instrument performed for music faculty and student judges on Friday, May 1, in Rudd Auditorium. The finalists’ recital and awards took place at Artcrafters on Saturday, May 2, in conjunction with the RAC elementary school visual arts exhibition. Dr. Luther also attended the annual conference of the Tennessee Music Teachers Association in Murfreesboro June 1-2, where she received the TMTA Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Drew Randle taught two sessions for Passing the Baton International at the 2009 Florida Parent Educators Association (FPEA) Florida Homeschool Convention in Orlando, FL, on May 23.

Ms. Danielle Rebman, Associate for Spiritual Formation, is currently in Italy and will be going to Latvia to visit summer interns involved in the Acts Project.

Dr. Clark Rose will conduct a faculty workshop July 30 on the Dayton campus. The workshop will allow faculty members to learn both the technical issues related to the use of i-clickers in the classroom as well as the pedagogical opportunities when integrating classroom response systems into the learning process.

Dr. Jack W. Traylor completed training and qualifications as a brakeman/conductor on the Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga on July 7.  His training over a four-month period included passing rules and job performance examinations and completing 267 hours of on-the-job experience.  His final examination involved his serving as conductor on a train during a simulated emergency inside the railroad's 986-foot-long Missionary Ridge tunnel and responding correctly based on a series of pre-determined steps the conductor is expected to take in such a situation.  He intends to work for the railroad primarily during the summer months.

Ms. Kimberle Tuttle, Special Events Coordinator, received her Master of Science degree in Management from Liberty University on May 9, 2009.
