2008-2009 Campus Crime and Security Report

This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Bryan College; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters. The college policy concerning the possession, use or sale of alcohol is as follows:
"The possession and/or use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco are prohibited. As well the smoking of any other substance is prohibited. In addition individuals are not to abuse legal or prescription substances. The use of, or possession of narcotics, illegal drugs, or alcoholic beverages are grounds for immediate suspension."
 
The college policy concerning the possession, use and sale of illegal drugs is as follows:
"Offenses for which a student may be suspended from the College include but are not limited to:
  • possession and/or use of narcotics, illegal drugs, or alcoholic beverages.
  • sexual misconduct or harassment.."
 
The college is a participant in both the drug-free workplace and drug-free campus programs. These programs include dissemination of information through handouts, booklets and the signing of a drug-free workplace agreement by all employees.

Sex Offense Procedures

  1. In the case of a sex offense, the victim, any witnesses, or any students hearing about the incident should report it immediately to one of the following college officials:
    1. Dean of Students (Mr. Bruce Morgan, x 233)
    2. Director of Counseling Services (Dr. Elizabeth Moseley, x 225)
    3. Vice President for Student Life (Dr. Peter Held, x 230)
  2. The victim may also contact the Dayton Police Department or ask a college official to contact the police if the victim so desires.
  3. It is very important for all victims and witnesses not to disturb any evidence that may be useful in criminal investigation.
  4. Both on and off campus counseling and support services available for the victims of sex offenses can be contacted through the Counseling Services Office.
  5. The Office of Student Life (in conjunction with local law enforcement officials should the alleged victim contact them) will conduct a thorough investigation of any alleged incidents.
  6. Victims and alleged victims may seek assistance in changing academic or living situations by contacting the Dean of Students or the Vice President for Student Life.
