Residence Halls
Bryan has five residence halls, two male and three female single gender dormitories. Each of the buildings has its own personality and its own proud students. Each building has an Resident Director (RD) who is there to help and guide students. Also each floor has one or two Resident Assistants (RA) who are students who handle problems as well as plan floor events and some administrative jobs like checking to see that the rooms are somewhat clean at least once a week. Learn more about each of the residence halls and the RDs
After your first year you will have a choice of where to live (higher credit hours have priority). There are two types of rooms at Bryan. One, suite style, has two rooms connected by a bathroom. The other, community style, has two large bathrooms per floor and the rooms just have a small sink area. Each room holding two or three students. Want more? Cafeteria
Bryan's cafeteria is located in the student center and runs on a "continuous service" model. Monday through Friday the cafeteria is open 7am - 7pm. This makes it a great place to hang out to play a card game, or grab some coffee while studying. (See hot meal hours) Often the cafeteria has specials such as smoothies or hot pretzels.
How to Get to Bryan
Thinking about coming to Bryan for a visit or just want to know where we are? Bryan is located in Dayton, Tennessee. We are about 30-40 minutes north of Chattanooga and about 70 minutes south of Knoxville. The weather is varied, from 90s average in the summer to lows in the 20s in the winter. If you are trying to plan for a trip, we suggest checking the weather before leaving, as it is often very unpredictable. Also, you might want to get some directions to campus and perhaps a campus map so you can get around when you are here.
The Community Life Handbook
Rules are a part of every community. At Bryan our standards are designed to create an atmosphere of personal responsibility and healthy habits. We have our handbook available online for you to look through. Most students want to know about things like curfew (which is Sun-Thur 12:30am, Fri-Sat 2:00am), and when they can visit the residence halls of the other gender (Female halls open Friday nights, male Saturday).
